Season Update for Families

The following is an update on current plans for the 2021 KWHLB season with you to support your planning for the season and the summer.  Although these plans may change, we will be sure to keep you informed.

Schedule

We are planning for the season to begin on June 14, 2021 (pending government approval) until August 21, 2021 (August 7th for T-Ball).  The first 2-3 weeks at least will involve 2 practices per week.  We will transition to game-play (2 games and 1 optional practice per week) within a week of permission being received from the government to do so.  The practice schedule will be available in TeamSnap by Friday or Saturday.  Parents are asked to download the TeamSnap app to see their team and schedule.

Championship day will be on August 7th for T-Ball and August 21, 2021 for 8U through 19U.

Equipment and Uniforms

The league provides a hat, shirt and pants for all players.  Each player needs running shoes/non-metal cleats, a baseball glove, a baseball bat, jock and a helmet (with strap).  Coaches will provide the uniforms to players at the first practice.  If families need financial assistance to purchase any equipment, please contact us.

COVID equipment:  Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be provided with the team equipment to your coach.  Players needs to provide their own face mask to be worn when not playing the game and a folding lawn chair.

COVID and Code of Conduct Guidelines

Families are expected to review a summary of the current COVID-19 guidelines for baseball (click here).  These guidelines may change and we will continue to keep families updated.

We also recommend that families review the KWHLB Codes of Conduct and Expectations for Parents (click here).

Communication with Coaches

A coaches meeting was held on Sunday May 30th to prepare our coaches for the season. We are all eager to get the kids out to play some baseball.  You should receive an email from your coach by June 10th.  We encourage families to volunteer to support your coach where needed.  Coaches may need support with sanitizing equipment, score keeping, pitch counts, etc.  Families are also asked to support your coach in ensuring your child follows the COVID-19 protocols.

Yours in baseball,

KW House League Baseball
