5U - Fundamentals

Description

The fundamentals program is designed to provide a fun experience for 4 & 5 year-old youngsters to learn the basic skills of baseball. (Born 2019 & 2020)

The goal of the program is to build a confident group of parents as coaches and children ready to enter the T-Ball program. Sessions focus on teaching the fundamentals of baseball – throwing, hitting, and fielding.  Waterloo and Kitchener REP team players and coaches are invited to assist with one-on-one instruction, pending covid restrictions.

The fundamentals program is a 6-week program held on Saturday mornings beginning May 11, 2024. Each session includes 25-30 players and will be held outdoors.  Uniform will be provided but players must provide their own glove.

Each participate will receive an award on the last day of the program.

Dates - Saturday May 11, 2024 - June 22, 2024 (no program May 18th)

Time: 9am or 10am

Location - Lourdes, 143 Lourdes St, Waterloo, ON **location may change

Cost 

$130 before March 1 ($155 after March 1)

Session Format

Each session begins with a 5-minute stretching/warm-up activity followed by rotations between 2-3 stations (hitting, throwing, fielding).  Players rotate between sessions every 15 minutes.

Scrimmages are incorporated into the sessions once players better understand the game. Additional fun activities, including Hit, Run and Throw competitions, and baseball show-and-tell are also included.
